Following a review of the Link Tutor role, the Guidance for Link Tutors was updated in 2020.
The sessions below will discuss the roles and responsibilities of the Link Tutor role, and sources of information and support for the Link Tutor to help to undertake those duties with partner institutions.
Validation and Periodic Programme Review are the university’s processes for approving/re-approving programmes of study, ensuring they meet university and national expectations of standards and quality.
This session will provide an overview of the processes, including the production of programme documentation and engaging with the Academic Planning Panel and validation/review panels. There will also be an opportunity to discuss best practice in respect of curriculum and assessment design. Colleagues will be familiarised with national expectations and benchmarks for programme design and approval, which enable judgements to be arrived at on academic standards and the quality of student learning opportunities.
The session will be led by Helen Summers and Kris Barrow-Yates from the Quality and Standards Team, and will include input from Henry Forsyth, Faculty Registrar (FHE) and Phil Carey, Dean of the Teaching and Learning Academy.
A MS Teams invite will be issued to your LJMU email address prior to the date of the training session. Please use your LJMU email to sign up to this session.
