LJMU’s Professor Greg Whyte - Behind the scenes at Children in Need

Sport and Exercise Sciences Professor Greg Whyte has helped raise over 50 million for charity including taking part in this year's Children in Need 2021

Over the past week LJMU's Professor Greg Whyte has taken part in two 24 hour challenges for BBC Children in Need.

The Sport and Exercise Sciences Professor teaches at LJMU and has used his knowledge of optimising performance not only to help students and elite athletes but for charity challenges too.

Over the past seven days, Greg was by the side of BBC Weatherman Owain Wyn Evans on Friday 12th as he took part in a 24 hour drumathon, raising over £3 million for charity. He then joined Sophie Ellis Bextor in her kitchen disco as she took on a 24 hour danceathon.

Since 2006, Greg has applied his sports science work to assist various celebrities in completing some of the toughest challenges. Greg has trained, motivated and successfully coached 32 Sport & Comic Relief Challenges helping raise over £50 million for charity

He also had a message, from behind the scenes at Sophie Ellis Bextor's 24 hour danceathon, for any potential students thinking about studying Sport and Exercise Sciences.
