Volunteer opportunities with Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2024

As part of the 2024 Royal British Legion (RBL) Poppy Appeal, the university’s Armed Forces Steering Group is working in partnership with the charity to appeal for staff volunteers who wish to offer some of their time to collect for the charity over the Remembrance period.

Volunteers are needed now through to Sunday 10 November 2024 with collection times between 10am and 4pm daily.

There will be Poppy Appeal stands in Liverpool railway stations and the Liverpool One shopping area. Then from Saturday 2 November further sites across the city centre where volunteers will be positioned.

Anyone volunteering will be placed with either RBL staff or other volunteers – you’ll never be alone; you’ll always be volunteering with others.

Whether you can spare a couple of hours, a full day or even longer, you can register your interest via the RBL volunteering web form or you can email the university's Armed Forces Champion, Dr Gus Ryrie, who will share your expression of interest in volunteering with the RBL city centre coordinator.

The RBL is a Corporate Fellow of LJMU and a charity that provides lifelong support to serving and ex- serving personnel and their families.
