Rosa Fong is an award-winning writer and director. Her films have won awards from the British Film Institute and Arts Council of England and she has directed programmes for both the BBC and Channel 4.

Her recent directing credits include BEAST short film, a series of films using verbatim dialogue released in March 2019. Deconstructing Zoe, a feature length documentary was released in 2016. Council House Movie Star, an experimental film premiered at Homotopia LBGT Festival (2013). Other films include Linear Rhythm, an arts documentary for the Arts Council of Britain, which was shown at Oakland Film Festival in the USA. China’s New Art, a video financed by the Baring Foundation and shot in main land China: The documentary looked at contemporary fine art in China at a time when contemporary art was still a politically sensitive issue. Tian, a one-minute poetic video was made for BBC 2, The Late show, and was screened at festivals in Brazil and the ICA in London. Her first fictional film A Dream of Venus Butterfly, was commissioned by Channel 4 and the Arts Council and screened both on TV and at many international film festivals.
Red, was financed by the British Film Institute and was selected for the audience prize at the European First Film Festival and screened at the London Film Festival. Chinese for Beginners, made for Channel 4 and Forrest Whittaker’s UK Production Company Spirit Dance, was a series of four 3-minute videos and was a tongue-in-cheek take on Chinese philosophy. Water Wings, financed by North West Vision and the UK Film Council is a hard-hitting short film about childhood trauma and a child that kills.
