Clara is a Senior Lecturer in Education and Early Childhood Studies. She teaches across a range of modules on the Education Studies suite of programmes from L3 to L6 and on the Masters in Education and Social Justice. Her research interests include: 'disability' in popular culture; children and the media; communication, language and literacy.

Clara was the Foundation Year Co-ordinator for Education and Early Childhood Studies from 2018-2025. In this role, she co-led a Curriculum Enhancement Student Internship project that examined the importance of Foundation Years for students.

From 2017-2019, she co-developed a student-led film club through a Curriculum Enhancement Student Internship project that focused on denaturalising common views on Dis/Ability and Education.
