I am Michael Barrett and I retired from Merseyside Police in 2019. During my service I worked at Constable, Sergeant and Inspector level within the CID and uniform roles. I was also temporarily promoted to Ch Inspector performing a Force Duty Officer role. I was a public order and Bronze Commander, working many Premiership and lower league football matches, protests and marches, and National events such as the Olympics in 2012. I worked closely with the Police Federation in issues of staff welfare and well-being. I completed a Master’s degree in Police Leadership in 2011.
I currently lecture on the Policing Degree Holder Entry Scheme and on Undergraduate programmes
