Matthew Wynn is a senior lecturer in adult nursing, with expertise in digital health, nursing identity, wound care, and infection prevention. His research examines the integration, acceptance, and ethical implications of digital technologies in nursing practice, particularly in clinical decision-making and professional identity. He has published on nursing theory and digital innovation, shaping contemporary discussions on digital nursing leadership and practice transformation.
Matthew has worked clinically in wound care and infection prevention. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his leadership in infection control and work on outbreak management received awards. His work continues to focus on improving wound care outcomes, preventing healthcare-associated infections, and integrating digital solutions into clinical practice.
Matthew also served as a commissioned officer in the British Army Reserves, where he developed leadership and operational planning skills that inform his approach to nursing education, research, and healthcare innovation.
As an experienced educator and researcher, Matthew has designed and led undergraduate and postgraduate modules on clinical education, digital health, and wound care. He has contributed to national and international discussions on digital nursing, acted as an expert advisor for digital healthcare events, and collaborated with industry partners on wound care technology.
