Enrolment and registration

If you are a new student you will need to activate your LJMU computer account before you can complete your online registration. To do this you will need your six or seven digit student ID number - you will find this on your registration email.

  • Go to My LJMU and click on the My Account tile.
  • Select Activate My Account and follow the instructions to set up your LJMU username and password.
  • Once you have activated your LJMU account you should go to My LJMU and complete your on-line registration.

You will also find information there about your ID checks and uploading a photo for your student card.

Student ID Cards

New students who complete registration and upload a photo before midnight on 19th December will receive their ID card, LJMU lanyard and a Campus map by post to their permanent home address.

Students who complete registration from 20 December onwards can collect their ID cards at pop-up card collection hubs from the 8 January until the 26 January,  8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday, at the Student Life Building or the Tithebarn Street Building reception desks.

Please note:
ID cards will not be posted between 21 December 2023 and 26 January 2024.

If you live outside of the UK, you can find details of how to get your ID card on the international enrolment webpage.

If you are having any difficulty with your username or logging into My LJMU or My Services please contact us at Student Registration or by calling 0151 231 3289.

Logging in to LJMU systems

There are a couple of different ways to log in to LJMU systems.

If you are logging into your LJMU email (outlook) then use your 8-letter username, for example CMPJBLOGG (see below) and password.

Logging in

However, if you are logging into My LJMU or Canvas you will be prompted to use the 8-letter username with the @ljmu.ac.uk suffix as your user ID, so for example CMPJBLOGG@ljmu.ac.uk with your usual password.

Logging in

There are instructions on the @ljmu.ac.uk log in screens that clarify which user ID to use.

If you are logged on to a university PC on campus then you can access these applications using the desktop icons.

If you need to re-set your password you can do this via My Account.

If you need any further assistance, please email studentregistration@ljmu.ac.uk.

Online module selection

Selecting your modules won't take very long and you can complete OMS from any computer with an internet connection.

Before you make your final selection we recommend that you talk to your programme leader or module tutors, if you haven't already done so, to find out what option modules are appropriate to your specific programme or route of study. You should also check that the modules meet the qualifying criteria for any professional accreditations associated with your course.

If you have any difficulties making your option module choices please complete a student enquiry form.
