How to plan for results day

Planning and preparation are important, so please take the time to read the information below. The advice you will find is relevant no matter where you decide to go.

What to do when your receive your grades

There are a few ways you can find out if your place is confirmed at Liverpool John Moores University:

  • Check your phone on results day for a text message from LJMU confirming your place
  • Log on to your UCAS application from 8.15am with your personal UCAS ID number
  • Call our Confirmation Line on +44 (0)151 231 5090 and speak to an advisor, lines are open from 7:30am - 7.00pm on Thursday 17 August

If your place is confirmed, there is no need to contact us.  We will be in touch via email with the next steps. Check out the Before you arrive website for information for new students.

If your UCAS application hasn’t been updated, please don't worry, this could be for a variety of reasons. Call us on the Confirmation Line if you have any queries about your place.

Irish Leavers Certificate

We are aware that the Irish Leaving Certificate results will not be released until Friday 25 August. Please be reassured that your offer will be held until we receive your results. Please ensure you send them to us as soon as you receive them.

Clearing and Adjustment explained

Clearing: gives students who either have no offers or haven't met, their expected grades the opportunity to find a place at university – search for available courses. It is also a way for late applicants to secure a place at university.

Adjustment: allows students who have not only met but exceeded their original firm choice offer, the chance to reconsider where and what they would like to study.
