Entry requirements

The following requirements are a guide only and can differ depending on your course of study and your own personal experience.

Undergraduate

An Irish Leaving Certificate at Higher Level (Ireland first award 2017) is considered comparable to GCE Advanced Subsidiary (AS) level or Scottish Higher standard

Grading: UCAS Points Higher Level (HL) & Ordinary Level (OL) (2016):

  • A1 = 36 (HL) / 12 (OL)
  • A2/B1 = 30 (HL) / 10 (OL)
  • B2/B3 = 24 (HL) / 8 (OL)
  • C1/C2 = 18 (HL) / 6 (OL)
  • C3/D1 = 12 (HL)
  • D2/D3 = 9 (HL

UCAS Points Higher Level (HL) & Ordinary Level (OL) (2017):

  • H1 = 36 (HL) / 12 (OL) O1
  • H2 = 30 (HL) / 10 (OL) O2
  • H3 = 24 (HL) / 8 (OL) O3
  • H4 = 18 (HL) / 6 (OL) O4
  • H5 = 12 (HL)
  • H6 = 9 (HL)

Postgraduate

An Honours Bachelor degree is considered comparable to British Bachelor (Honours) degree standard (Same grading system as UK).
