The Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Wound Care is designed for healthcare professionals looking to deepen their expertise and lead innovation in wound care practice. The program consists of three consecutively run modules.
Module 1: The Science of Wound Healing for Health Professionals (20 credits)
Explore the biological foundations of wound healing, including physiology, pathophysiology, and the key factors that influence healing outcomes. This module provides the essential scientific grounding for advanced clinical decision-making in wound care.
Module 2: Wound Care Diagnostics and Intervention (20 credits)
Gain skills and expertise in assessing and managing complex wounds using the latest clinical techniques and digital tools. You’ll learn to integrate evidence-based interventions and use technology to enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning.
Module 3: Innovative Service Improvement in Wound Care (20 credits)

This module explores the science of wound healing through a combination of face-to-face taught sessions, online workshops, and tutorials, providing health professionals with an advanced understanding of wound physiology, cellular mechanisms, and factors affecting healing. Learners will critically engage with emerging research and technological advancements in wound biology. Assessment at Level 7 consists of a 3000-word critical narrative, exploring key literature related to the learning outcomes, encouraging analytical thinking and application of knowledge to clinical practice.
Wound Care Diagnostics and Intervention

Innovative Service Improvement in Wound Care
