A qualified Accountant and an MBA graduate of Henley Mgmt College, John has 30yrs of commercial experience as a General Manager, Managing Director, & Finance Director, gained in the Property Development, Construction, Food & Beverage, Leisure, and Luxury Retail sectors of UK and internationally-based organisations. Spending many years in the property development scene of Manchester, John focused on regenerating areas of the city, including: Ancoats, New Islington and the city’s creative Northern Quarter. Experienced in entrepreneurial, independent, SME organisations, with visionary and pioneering approaches to O.D., John fuses a blend of commercial and socially-focused energy into the world of finance (it's not all abut the £££).
Impacting student engagement, supporting social-mobility for under-represented groups, and shining a light on financial-management for use within our public-services, are John's motivations for moving into Academia, delivering content on the Bus-With, Bus-Mgmt, and Chtd Mgmt Degree-Apprent u/graduate programmes, and strategic finance on the MSc, MBA, & MBA Scale-Up p/graduate programmes. John is currently a student on one of the LJMU doctoral programmes.
