Sarah Williams is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), where she leads the MA HRM programme. Sarah is also a Women Acedemics Network committee member at LJMU and the Athena Swan Lead and Sustainability Accelerator Coordinator for the Liverpool Business School, actively contributing to institutional work on equity, inclusion, and environmental responsibility. Externally, she is a North-West and North Wales Local Network Co-Lead for the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) UK & Ireland Chapter.

Sarah’s doctoral research explores how institutional pressures influence the presence and emergence of sustainable HRM within PRME-aligned UK business schools. Her broader research interests span responsible management education, sustainable HRM, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and the future of work. She has presented her work at national and international conferences and is committed to advancing pedagogical approaches that centre ethics, creativity, and social justice in business education.

An advocate for transformative learning, Sarah integrates futures literacy, arts-based methods, and play into her teaching practice. She has developed innovative sessions and workshops that help students engage critically and imaginatively with sustainability, power, and uncertainty. Her pedagogical work aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

Sarah is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Certified Management & Business Educator.

She welcomes opportunities for collaboration in areas related to sustainability, EDI, and critical management education.
