LJMU Book club
Are you passionate about books and eager to connect with fellow readers? LJMU Library has joined up with the JMSU Literature Society to run a monthly book club which offers a welcoming space for students, staff, and alumni to explore a diverse range of literature together. Whether you're a seasoned reader or just looking to discover new authors and genres, our in-person meetings and our group on the Fable app are perfect opportunities to dive into thought-provoking discussions and share your love for reading.
How it works
The book club meets once a month during semester, so from October to May each year. Each session is dedicated to a selected theme. We suggest three different books for you to try, and you can choose to read one, two, all or none of them. Our meetings are held in person at both Aldham and Avril Robarts Libraries but you can also participate in chats via the Fable app making it easy for everyone to participate, no matter where you are.
Join the conversation
Joining the Book Club is easy! Simply review our Book Club Guidelines (PDF, 141KB) to learn more about how the club operates and what to expect during meetings. Then have a look at our list of Upcoming meetings and themes to plan ahead and decide which books you’d like to read and which meetings you’d like to attend. You don’t have to sign-up in advance for meetings and you can join the conversation on the Fable app at any time.
