Sport-related
Delivering solutions in the areas of coaching, sports development, PE and leisure studies
Our work is applied in nature and involves working with a vast array of national and international partners.
Evaluative research is central to this work, partnering such organisations as Sport England, the Youth Sport Trust, British Cycling and the Equality and Human Rights Commission in informing the efficacy of their national interventions and making recommendations for future practice.
Our expertise
The work in this area is broadly divided into four areas, with examples:
- Inclusion: Providing reasonable adjustment for children with special educational needs in school (Equality and Human Rights Commission)
- Sport coaching: Exploring coaching behaviours and expert pedagogy (British Cycling, Sport England)
- Children’s movement: Creating a global movement concept, evaluating a national intervention (Start to Move) and establishing a movement assessment protocol (Youth Sport Trust and international partners)
- Physical activity: Evaluating the impact of an intervention on women’s physical activity (Sport England)
