How to apply for study abroad
- Research your opportunities/attend promotional sessions (see event calendar for actual or virtual sessions).
- Check where and when you can study abroad on the Global Opportunities Portal.
- Attend a pre departure session either virtually or face to face. Check out the schedule in the event calendar.
- Register your interest on the Global Opportunities Portal.
- Your International Mobility Coordinator will review your preferences which will need to be approved in order to progress to application.
- Once you receive approval on your registered interest, proceed to Canvas to enrol in the credit-bearing (Study abroad) programme.
- Submit your application by the deadline via the Study Abroad application 23-24 link in the Canvas Assignments section of the Canvas Study Abroad module.
- The decision will be emailed to you.
- Accept your placement by the deadline.
- Once you have accepted your placement LJMU will submit your nomination to your host.
- You must attend all LJMU compulsory pre departure sessions, one-2-one / group sessions.
- Complete the hosts registration process, this will be sent by your host university.
- Apply for Turing Scheme Funding, and if successful complete all associated paperwork.
- Apply and secure a visa via your hosts Consulate.
- Book your travel.
- Go abroad!
