Course aim

This masters-level module is aimed at healthcare professionals who would like to expand their understanding of advanced practice within modern healthcare.

Completing the module, will give you a critical understanding and applied appreciation of advanced healthcare practice. You will also explore its application and impact on practice.

Course content

This module is delivered via lectures, debates and workshops.Topics around advancing healthcare practice will include legal issues, the impact on practice, commissioning and NHS frameworks, prescribing and human factors.

Teaching and learning

This course will run over a one semester (15 week) period. You will be required to attend two hour sessions per week.

  • Alternative qualifications considered

    In order to be considered for this module, you should:

    • be a healthcare professional
    • have at least 2 years post-qualification experience
    • be able to demonstrate that you have worked at Level 6 or 7

How to apply

To apply for this programme, you are required to complete an LJMU CPD application form. You will need to provide details of your qualifications and curent employment.

Assessment

You will be assessed via a 3,000 word essay.

CPD award

This Continuing Professional Development can be studied within the MSc Advanced Healthcare Practice (Clinical) award framework or as a standalone CPD.
