About your course
The BSc (Hons) Business Management and Analytics degree combines core business disciplines with practical data and analytics skills. You’ll learn how organisations operate and how data-driven insight supports managerial decision-making.

This module provides the skills and knowledge to succeed in the graduate employment market. Students will learn how to produce the necessary documentation, such as CVs, covering letters psychometric tests, application forms and interview and presentation skills, to secure interviews with prospective employers.

To recognise and evaluate strategic decision-making and how it affects the competitive advantage of business. Students will critically analyse the strategic position of business, assess the strategic choices of businesses to pursue a competitive advantage, and evaluate strategy in action, including how leaders implement strategies in changing environments.

How you’ll learn
Teaching uses a mix of lectures, workshops, seminars and tutorials tailored to the subject matter and level of study. Modules emphasise student-centred learning with task-based activities, discussion and feedback to apply theoretical concepts to practical problems. You’ll be supported by personal tutors and receive tutorial help throughout the programme.
Dedicated personal tutor, plus study skills support
The Liverpool Business School is a supportive environment in which to study and the 'student-centred approach' of your tutors will ensure that you are given the support and guidance you need.
When you start you studies, you will be assigned a personal tutor. They will set up one-to-one tutorials with you to discuss a piece of coursework or to work with you on your personal development plan.
Assessment varies depending on the modules you choose, but will usually include a combination of exams and coursework.
You’ll be assessed through a variety of methods designed to develop and demonstrate practical and intellectual skills:
- Essays and reports
- Case studies and business projects
- Presentations and pitches
- Portfolios and data portfolios
- Group and individual assessments
Detailed assessment criteria and feedback are provided at module level to support improvement and professional development.
Where you will study
The School is based in the Redmonds Building, in the heart of the bustling Mount Pleasant Campus and Liverpool's growing Knowledge Quarter. The building is home to high quality lecture theatres and seminar rooms, social spaces, a café and a roof terrace with far reaching views of the cityscape and Welsh hills. It is only a short walk from LJMU's Mount Pleasant Campus Library, which contains all the resources you will require for your studies, and is open seven days a week.

Work-related learning
Work-related learning is integral to the course and covers four elements:
- learning about yourself
- practising skills
- experiencing the world of work, and
- learning to manage yourself in varied situations.
Elements 1, 2 and 4 are embedded across core modules; element 3 is supported through optional placement or study-abroad opportunities. The programme maintains a strong employability focus at every level.
Careers and employability
Graduates are well-placed for roles that require both business knowledge and analytical capability. Typical career paths include:
- Business analyst / data analyst
- Project coordinator / operations analyst
- Management consultant (graduate schemes)
- Digital product or operations roles
- Financial analyst / commercial analyst
- Marketing analyst / insight officer
Many graduates go on to professional training or postgraduate study (including data science and management courses) and industry certifications (e.g. Agile, SQL, PRINCE2® overview, data-analytics certificates).

Tuition fees and funding
Fees
Tuition fees for home students beginning their studies in September 2026 will be £9,790 for the 2026/27 academic year, subject to Parliamentary approval.
In England and Wales, tuition fees for home undergraduate students are set in accordance with the Government’s regulated fee cap. The Government has confirmed that this cap will be £9,790 for 2026/27 and £10,050 for 2027/28, in both cases subject to Parliamentary approval.
The Government has also indicated that from the 2028/29 academic year onwards, the fee cap may be adjusted annually in line with inflation. As a result, tuition fees in future years may increase in line with inflation. We will provide confirmation of any changes as early as possible in advance of each academic year.
The university reserves the right to increase tuition fees in accordance with any changes to the maximum allowable fees set by the UK Parliament.
The fees quoted above cover registration, tuition, supervision, assessment and examinations as well as library membership and student IT support with access to printed, multimedia and digital resources including programme-appropriate software and on campus Wi-Fi.

Additional Costs
In addition to fees, students should also keep in mind the cost of:
- Accommodation
- Travel costs including those for placements, visas and travel for studying abroad and field trips unless paid for by LJMU
- Stationery, IT equipment, professional body membership and graduation gown hire
