High performance computing at LJMU
Prospero is LJMU’s central high performance computing (HPC) facility for research
Prospero is LJMU’s high performance computing (HPC) facility for research. It is hosted and operated by the university’s IT Services (ITS) division, as a service to the university’s research community. Prospero is a unified focal point for advanced research computing at LJMU, enabling researchers to access a comprehensively supported Linux-based computing facility with many compute cores and a large distributed memory footprint.
The facility is funded by a blend of external research grants and internal funds, and is free to researchers at the point of use.
Technical documentation and usage policies for the system are hosted on the specialist open source documentation hosting service readthedocs.io
Technical support requests for the system can be submitted via the LJMU Helpdesk.
Researchers proposing to use or upgrade the system in bids for external research funding are encouraged to contact the HPC admin team.
