Professional development

We offer professional development courses and programmes for a wide range of educators.

Our portfolio reflects our research strengths, cutting-edge ideas and developments in education and childcare. At the School of Education we have a large academic network with students, staff and professionals.

In our mission to provide sector-wide professional development, we aim to meet the needs of educators locally, nationally and internationally with a flexible and collaborative approach, allowing us to act on feedback and changes in society.

At LJMU, we are proud to have developed our Natural Curriculum approach to help provide enriched learning experiences for children in school.

We offer short Natural Curriculum Practitioner Programmes to train teachers in linking learning outcomes from the National Curriculum to learning experiences in outdoor environments.

We also have expertise and networks to support professional development.

It was great to see our staff so engaged and open to talk about their own experiences of teaching RE - including what the issues are around some staff member's insecurities around the subject (for example subject knowledge and not wishing to offend or impart incorrect information). The session really helped address some of these issues - thank you.
