If you are interested in our initial teacher education programmes or professional development courses for teachers, LJMU has a well-established reputation in these areas. We deliver innovative approaches to initial teacher education.

We offer a unique Learning Development Support programme for students who may not have formal qualifications, but who have a wealth of experience in the field, to obtain an undergraduate degree.

There are two main pathways into teaching: University-led pathways and School-led pathways. Within these there are Postgraduate and Undergraduate training pathways and School-led salaried routes are available too.
